Poetry or prose

I'm currently working on a novel and so far it is going quite well. I still look back fondly to my poetry writing days as well but I want to forge ahead with this big prose project. What I would really like is to develop a prose style that is quite poetical in its tone and feel. Some of my favourite novelists are able to pen a sentence that just flows on in an eminently aesthetic manner. I'll just keep working on it and see if I can develop my 'voice'..

Sound investing

In these uncertain financial times with all of their concomitant worries and problems it is good to know that there are still ways of investing in secure commodities. One of these sound investment prospects remains gold. Whether it is gold bullion or gold coins you would like to consider investing in, Monaco Rare Coin can help you out.

Gold is one of the most secure ways to invest your hard earned money. After all, are we not all looking for a bit of financial security these days? I know that I for one certainly am. You simply cannot go wrong when you invest in gold assets, such as gold coins or bullion.

Show

Last night I watched Letterman and he had Howard Stern on. He was quite entertaining and affable and made for a good guest. Certainly better than the previous show when famous airhead Paris Hilton was the main guest. That was just annoying and slightly embarrassing. And yet I gather that some men find her attractive. Quite honestly, she repulses me somewhat.

Pub

Spent a great night down the pub with some good friends of mine. It was someone’s birthday and this someone also introduced her new fellow to us. A nice bloke who seemed to cope well with all the attention lavished on him as the proverbial newcomer. A fun and raucous night followed and a great time was held by all. So there.

Fabulous jewelry

Is there anything in this world of ours that denotes luxury and a sense of well being quite like a stunning piece of jewelry? I doubt it. For ladies it is just a wonderful accessory to be able to add a thing of beauty to their own natural splendour. For we men it is a joy to surprise the woman in our life with a present in the shape of a fabulous necklace or ring or pair of ear rings. That moment when that precious little box is opened and the look of awe and joy on a lady’s face are just invaluable.

Check out the fantastic fashion jewelry of Holsted Jewelers for a great range of superb jewelry.

Sleep

After years of not being able to sleep in any more I am now finding I can quite easily have a bit of a lie-in. My apartment tends to be nice and quiet and a veritable haven of peace and tranquility. I feel okay here and perhaps that, in turn, enables me to really unwind and relax for a change. Anyway, that's my theory and I'm sticking to it. Call me old fashioned.

Poetry, that whimsical

I'm about to give one of my poetry books to a good friend of mine. I hope she'll appreciate it. You can never really tell when you give away one of your own books. Do they really like the gesture or do they think you're up your self and imposing your ramblings on them, abusing their friendship in some way or to some extent. We'll see.

Bus joy

I got back quite late from town last night on the bus and found that in contrast to some other places I have lived in the past, the experience was a safe one and there seemed nothing to worry about in the way of personal security. There were a few people waiting at the bus stop, the bus showed up dead on time, the driver was courteous and friendly and fifteen minutes later I was back home. Great stuff, really.

Ideas

I am working on a novel. And last night, in the midst of some De Profundis inner turmoil, I developed some ideas that may take the story in the direction that it needs to go. I love that feeling of knowing what to write next, that feeling that you never want to stop writing and just want to keep the thing going for ever. It's really a most wonderful feeling.

A great online MBA program

For a start, I think that we can all agree that few things in life are as rewarding as the sense of a genuine achievement. And let me state that achievements come in all shapes and sizes. But personally I feel that it is a great feeling to achieve a goal in life through hard work or some other kind of dedicated effort. We can include in this of course a course of education that leads to an invaluable qualification.

For instance you may want to look at the excellent school mba at Capella University. This online MBA program from Capella University is an excellent option for those who wish to maximise their talents in a rewarding course of study.

Capella University always takes great care to mix traditional business courses with a series of professional effectiveness MBA courses that just happen to have been designed to deliver the knowledge and skills that can really take you further. All the way to the top!

My books

I have just taken another interest in my published books. I had sort of left of trying to promote them as I did not seem to be getting very far. And, of course, I will soon be working on the production of my latest slim volume of poems in which I try to reflect some of my impressions of my new life in Sydney. Que sera, sera.

Rain and then some

It just stopped raining. It was another one of those torrential downpours that I have become familiar with living here in Sydney. I love seeing the rain pour down in gulping streams across the windows. Knowing that it is a good thing when it rains in this country is a good thing too, I suppose. Let’s hear it for the weather gods.

Gold coins

There are obviously many people out there who have hobbies and enjoy spending their valuable free time on them. Other people have passions they cannot do without. These leisurely pastimes or spare time pursuits can be whatever you like. Some like collecting postal stamps, some go for long hikes in the country, yet others love reading and writing and so on and so forth.

But a hobby or personal interest can sometimes be quite lucrative as well. For instance, if you are into buying and selling gold coins you could really be on to something good. Experts in rare coins such as for example Monaco can present you opportunities that are available for you on the rare coin market right now. This could be well worth looking into and it may well be very profitable as well.

Music

Tomorrow, I will be joining a few friends at the nearby Birchgrove Acoustic music festival. Hopefully, the weather gods will be on our side. It happens to be held in a really nice little park by the harbour foreshore and the views are truly amazing. I’m looking forward to spending some time with my mates and enjoying the music offerings.

Wanderlust

I'm living in a huge country and I can't wait to get out of the city and go travelling and seeing some of the wonderful places. I'd love to go up to the Top End and visit the Kakadu National Park. And, of course, I'd like to go back to the far north of Queensland as well. And, the Pacific islands keep calling me as well. A hopeless romantic I'm not impervious to the island idyll idea. Call me old fashioned. Go on!

Options trading

Money is on most people’s mind these days what with the news constantly telling us how bad the economic outlook is and how it is going to take a while to get out of the much publicised global down turn. Of course, it does not quite have to be all that bad. In fact it is quite often possible to earn good money with for instance investments or stock options trading even when the wider economy is not doing particularly well.

Have a look at the website for PowerOptions where you will find a veritable treasure trove of information on stock options and trading. I have recently started trading in stock options and so far it is going rather well.

It is quite interesting to keep track of my earnings and I have found lots of useful information on PowerOptions. Check it out.

Ostara

As so we face Easter and the Resurrection of our Saviour. Although, strictly speaking I am not practising this time of year does mean a lot to me. Somehow it makes more of an impact than Christmas. I think I’ll try to go to Church at some point over the weekend but knowing me that may very well not happen after all either.

Bar food

Went for a meal last night in a local pub. I had the steak special, surprise, surprise, and my dinner companion opted for the bangers and mash. Behind the bar were the two nice girls and a new star in town, a young Scottish bloke with a winning smile who seemed to be highly appreciated by the two girls. It was a fun night but unfortunately there was no live music yesterday evening. Oh well..

A dream vacation

Is there anyting better than going somewhere wonderfully romantic for your vacation? Usually, you will want any vacation to be a wonderful one but more importantly now you can stay in a truly fabulous Adults Only Hotelwhich makes your vacation of a lifetime just right, I think you will agree. There are many destinations to choose from when considering where to go for your vacation.

You should certainly check out the white sand beaches of Riviera Maya. You see, the word Karisma comes from the Greek and means ‘divine favour’. Karisma hotels is a group of divinely favoured properties located on stunning white sand beaches on the Mexican Riviera Maya. This is the ultimate destination for a gloriously romantic vacation. This is a silver style vacation option that is certain to impress. Especially, since there is a wonderful emphasis on gourmet-style food choices. Go for it!

Books

Reading. Now I'm living the life of a single man again I have started to do more reading and I have to say I am really enjoying it. There's nothing quite like settling down to read for a few hours on end in a book you just know you are going to enjoy. What a pleasure for the senses. It engages the whole spectrum of human emotions and triggers thoughts that you would not have had otherwise. I've just put up a few book shelves and there is extra capacity, enabling me to buy some more volumes. Hooray!

Sports overkill

As if there wasn't enough sports on Aussie television we will have a 24-hour free-to-air sports channel tomorrow. All the sports you can stomach and then some more. And just when you get enough of all the sports, you get some more sports. Oh well..as long as they include some proper football, I don't mind.

Beauty schools in Michigan

Of course, it is evident that education is an important issue these days and for young people looking for a college or other type of training it is not always easy to find the right path that is suitable for their situation. There are all sorts of people and not every kind of training or schooling will be the right choice. Of course, there is a multitude of schools and colleges to choose from and that in itself, that huge choice of options, is not always a great help.

I want to let you know about these michigan cosmetology schools that I have heard about. They are Regency beauty schools and they just happen to be the fastest growing beauty school in the land. They have expanded from a mere two Minnesota schools in 2002 to nearly thirty campuses in a number of states and it looks like they will keep growing in the future, that much seems certain.

Poem to a friend

I sent a poem I had written to a friend in the UK. The poem was about my feelings about Bristol and leaving that part of my life behind. It's emotional and whimsical and aims to evoke the 'feel' of Bristol, that funny old town in England. I got some good feedback from her and that means something to me as she is quite a culture-vulture as the French say..

Funny stuff

There are lots of British comedians who appear here in Australia. Before long I am hoping to catch a few of them doing their stand-up. I had meant to see Dylan Moran but I have other engagements that weekend, unfortunately. There is still Ross Noble in June and I am hoping to get someone to go with me. I have seen Mr Noble in Bristol and he was very, very good. Utterly entertaining in his off-beat way.

Music

I've got all my CDs again after the delivery of my things from England earlier this week. It's great to be able to play my own music again. I have to use the DVD player and telly but will get a sound system soon enough. I played Secrets of the Beehive by David Sylvian this morning and really enjoyed it all over again. Lovely music on a lovely morning; that's what it was..

Beeb wireless

I’m just now listening to the radio. I’m listening to BBC’s Radio Five Live on the internet. I used to enjoy listening to this station when I lived in England. Somehow, the station seemed more balanced and less politically correct than some other BBC programmes. And, there was always something to laugh about as well. The British sense of humour, you can’t beat it, really.

Sharky

There have been quite a few shark attack reports in the news recently. Surprisingly, a lot of these shark attacks have taken place in the harbour, which apparently is rather unusual. It seems that the reason why there are more sharks around is that the waters in the harbour are much cleaner. So there are now more fish and that in turn attracts more sharks. I’m staying on terra firma for a while.

Precious metals

Most people have, at some stage or other, dreamed of what it would be like to be truly wealthy. One of the images that denote real luxury and riches has to be the sight of those amazing gold items that are so impressive to just look at such as jewellery and art objects. With american silver eagle you can invest in gold bars, gold bullion, coins, silver, platinum and palladium and other products. And, as everyone well knows, investing in gold is generally one of the safest options that will keep their worth in years to come. You can’t really go wrong with gold, that goes without saying.

Generally, it is always a good idea to keep your self informed of the current gold price. Purchasing gold has been recognized for ages and ages as one of the most reliable ways to preserve one’s wealth and buying power. And of course gold bullion is a unique investment. From time immemorial to more recent times, humankind has had an enduring affinity with gold bullion that has truly stood the test of time. In all ages and across the world, people have been fascinated with the beauty and the magic of gold. It makes sense, after all.

Big ships

I missed the Queen Mary II docking in Sydney Harbour. Only days previously I had marvelled with a sense of awe at the sight of the enormous Queen Victoria ocean liner lying tied up at Circular Quay. What a great ship. The sheer size is so impressive. I’ve always liked travelling by ship. It’s just so elegant to glide your way to where you want to go..

The working week

The working week is, once again, over and done with. An exciting week at my new job, I will spare you the details but it has been good and uplifting. I have discovered that a challenge can, after all, be a very good thing all things considered. Of course, once I had knocked off it was straight down to the pub for a schooner. Can you blame me?

Wedding shop

Let’s be honest: who doesn’t get a bit soft at the thought of tying the knot. Is there anything more evocative or romantic that those few words? I don’t think so. I know that I for one really enjoyed my wedding day and that is a man saying this. The day was a wonderful one and I felt really really in love and over the moon at the prospect of spending my married life with just this very girl who meant the world to me.

If you happen to be looking for wedding gifts or bridesmaid gifts then you should definitely check out The Knot Wedding Shop where you will find everything you need and more besides. Have a look for your self!

Funny is funny

Funny stuff is funny stuff. I like the Aussie sense of humour. It is witty and at the same time very robust and down to earth. It has that cheekiness I like in British humour but has added a few direct punches for good measure. Some of the Aussie telly adverts are really funny. Good stuff!

Sport mad

Sport mad. The Aussies seem to be crazy about sports. Any sport, it seems. During the week it is not so bad but sometimes on the weekend all you see on each and every channel on telly is sport. Golf, cricket, rugby, tennis, indoor netball for crying out loud. I suppose it’s just a case of that’s the way it is. Ah well. I think I’ll find a good book to read.

Peter Pan, that whimsical poetic figure in Kensington Gardens. I had a look around the fabulous statue in the park shortly before I left England. It was a special moment and one that I shan't forget. Ever. It was a magical sort of thing, not easily explained. The picture will have to suffice.

Gilber Grape

Watches 'What's Eating Gilbert Grape?' last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. I like the slowish, gentle pace of the film, the characters, the wide open skies of the rural American setting. Finally, a film that has no guns blazing, no tyres screeching, no boring men in their boring car chases. A good film all round, really..

Fast weight loss

There are an awful lot of people in the world today who struggle in one form or another with their weight. I do not exclude myself from this category by any means, I assure you. There is, however, now a fast weight loss programme that can help anyone to lose weight, and lose it fast.

This is the new lifestyle diet that can really make a change to your life for the better. We would all be healthier if we who need to could lose some of our weight. Web 2.0

Tim O'Reilly happens to be the founder of O'Reilly Media is a and a supporter of the free software and open source movements. He is widely credited with coining the term Web 2.0.

O'Reilly was initially interested in literature upon graduating from high school, but after graduating from Harvard College in 1975 with a B.A. cum laude in Classics he became involved in the field of computer manuals. He defines his company not as a book or online publisher, or as a conference producer (though the company does all three), but as a technology transfer company, "changing the world by spreading the knowledge of innovators." O'Reilly is on the board of CollabNet, and was on the board of Macromedia until its 2005 merger with Adobe. In March 2007, he joined MySQL AB’s Board of Directors.

In 2001, Tim O’Reilly was involved in a dispute with Amazon.com, leading a protest against Amazon's one-click patent, and specifically, Amazon's assertion of that patent against rival barnesandnoble.com. The protest ended with O'Reilly and Jeff Bezos visiting Washington D.C. to lobby for patent reform.

O'Reilly talks about web 2.0, which is about the free flow of information however some would argue that he seeks to be squeezing every penny out of it. Lately he has reportedly contacted his old boys network at that major search engine compnay to cut off support for a holding web 2.0 conferences that are priced at a fraction of his conference.

Health matters

What matters most to you out of all the factors that influence your life and your general sense of well being? Is it the money you earn through your job, your career prospects themselves? Or is it something more ephemeral and abstract such as a spiritual goal you are trying to attain? For many people they may answer this initial question using one or some of the options listed. Or they may answer something completely different. After all, human beings are as diverse as anything and that is what makes life interesting in my humble opinion.

For me, apart from the love of my life who happens to be my dear wife, my health has to be near the top of the list of things I value most. If you have a good basic health you will enjoy life more, that only makes sense. To stave off disease and unhealthy living conditions is something that we all would like to do. One of the ways to go about maintaining a healthy lifestyle is though a balanced and nutritional diet.

One way is to use the best liquid diet that you can find. A liquid protein diet can do wonders for you and your diet plan. It can help with weight loss and offer you a new lifestyle diet.

Roar

Howling, terrifying screech
Of wind through corners of the soul,
Around buildings,
Whistling like a demented banshee,
Crying out for the world to stop.

Words are whispered,
Hushed feeling glow and linger,
The fire needs kindling,
And so do we.

The stars ignite,
A dream takes its leave,
The hours slide into shadows,
At least the wind has died down.

Time flies

Ageing can be hard on the sense of humour, don’t you find? I used to think I was immortal and that no matter how poorly I treated my body, chances were I would live forever and always in surprisingly good health at that. Ah, the hubris of youth, dear readers. Now I have slowly passed the age threshold of forty years (and counting) I find I no longer think my life will just carry on indefinitely without any hiccups along the way.
Sometimes I get out of bed and feel decidedly sluggish and achy in my old bones and back. Why do you suppose that is, I ask you in all honesty? The answer is fairly obvious; I am, despite my best efforts, getting older.

But that does not mean I cannot take care of myself and my health. For instance at
RBCStore.com you can buy all sorts of quality products that will aid the anti-aging process. RBC Life Sciences specialise in these fine products so check them out. They have products such as microhydrin and microhydrin plus. But also microbrite tooth powder as well as antioxidant products.
Have a look at their site and see for yourself!

Celebrity Connection

When you see a star-studded function on television or some grand awards occasion such as the Oscars you may think that these celebrities all appear there as if by magic or completely on their own volition. Indeed when it comes to the Academy Awards this may well be the case, not the magic but they may just go along by themselves. But corporations and trade associations, television networks and many other organisations need someone to match them up with a particular celebrity to enhance their occasion or event.

This, indeed, is where Celebrity Connection comes in. They can connect these companies and organisations with one of the celebrities on their books. After all, they have access to about ten thousand celebrities, no less. It is for a normal person perhaps an usual idea to think that there must be such a down-to-earth approach to making this kind of celebrity connection actually happen. But, of course that is the way these things are done. And this company can provide a full suite of professional services that range from celebrity acquisitions and coordination to total event management.

The World

Keen to revolve ad infinitum,
Gently spinning, or
Troubled dizzily out of control,
A child's toy,
A madman's dream of power and glory,
Battles scarred her precious skin,
Deep within her azure globe,
Something lethal stirs.

You have to have 'Been Seen'

Travel broadens the mind they say and ‘they’ are absolutely right. I love to travel and see some of the world’s exotic places in far flung destinations. There is so much to see and so many wonderful sights to behold. If I could I would do a lot more travelling but just popping over to Paris every now and then is a genuine thrill.

A few years ago I visited Hong Kong for a few days and that gave me a taste for Asia and I will definitely go back and explore China and South-East Asia in much more detail.

A great website for travellers everywhere is Been Seen which aims to be a fun as well as artistic website and also to establish a community of like-minded travellers who want to explore and share aesthetic and interesting travel experiences with each other.

Been Seen adopts a creative and visually artistic point of view when it comes to the concept of travel. It is all about searching out places that are remote and beautiful which reflect simple luxury.

Check out this wonderful website and experience a difference in where and how we travel.

Snapbomb!

I just found about a very interesting paid to blog site with the intriguing name Snapbomb. This looks like a very promising blog review site and I am happy to create a bit of a buzz for them. I always welcome a new paid to review site when one comes along. As far as I am concerned Snapbomb looks like it could really work well for both bloggers and advertisers.

Blog advertising can really do wonders for a product or a company’s service. The exposure provided by a good blog post cannot be underestimated. What I like about Snapbomb is the speed with which you can register with them. You then submit your blogs for appraisal and within seconds you receive an estimate of your blog’s value.

I think this could be a really good site for bloggers and advertisers looking for blog marketing. Good luck, Snapbomb!

Starlet

So eager, breathless,
She dances herself into a tiny frenzy
At the prospect of some measure of imagined fame.

The milkman had seen her picture
In the paper that held his cod and chips,
And she looked nice.

Much nicer than that piece of fish
And those soggy chips.

Day

Opening up like a wilful flower,
Nothing remains unseen by this light;
Awe-struck, emboldening,
Grasping life by the throat
And kissing its keen brow.

Iphones and such

Technology is a wondrous thing that has indeed enhanced the lives of most of us. Can you imagine having to do without your email account or MP3 player or smart phone? Of course you would be able to do without these technological features but would you want to do that? I certainly would not and I don’t think many others would either.

Most people who are the proud owners of an iphone 2.0 would probably agree with me that the ease and comfort of their iphone is something that has changed their lives for the better and I would certainly be able to understand why they would feel that way.

There is a very useful iphone forum where you can discuss all manner of things relating to the apple iphone sdk so be sure to check it out. It really is a great forum to chat and discuss iphone sdk applications, general SDK topics and more.

It is well worth looking into. Have a go and see for yourself how this forum can be of use to you. You will find something of interest, I am sure!

Sleep Time

I rove and roam within my mind;
Awkward zomblie lust-filled mare,
Night digs in deep, deeper still,
And salvation is not close at hand.

I lie awake, dreaming light-beams,
Seemingly a sphere of radiance benign,
Dawns upon a sullen brow,
Too eager, too keen, yet far too old.

Water-clad

Dripping in dewy sunshine droplets
Honey-pearled, wisdom-reared
The creature dreams of dreaming clearly
Of all that it could be
One day, sometime, somewhere.

The river soothes, trickles gladness
Creatures dance and mingle, rock step along
Pools of mirror fantasy
Elongate the soul's pleasure.

The river is always there,
Is always coming,
And is always going away.

Cornerstone

Built my palace on your love for me
Dwelling to befit a divine couple
Of ordinary humans
Touched by a moment of love
And madness
Wrapped up in scrolls of exulted claims
To eternal love
Life unbound, unfettered
By life itself
Beyond it all and reaching even further
To where the grand mansion is located
On the edge, on the shelf
The ridge where we dare not linger.

The Valley

It lay bare and open that day
The words tumbled from our eager tongues
Pleasant whispers, elevated notions
Collided dreams, real-time infotainment
Too nice, too lovely to forget
Even then.

And later that day as evensong cleared
The words become touching
Whispers kisses
And nothing could turn back
The world was ours
And this night alone
We would live forever.

What I Believe

That a poem should be concise and not endless pages long,
And a word should uplift the weary soul, and then soothe.

That if you can you should go for a ride in a balloon,
And forget about what you think of your self altogether.

That the world is a wondrous and terrible place,
And life both beautiful and horrific.

That the intricate secret web of life itself is built upon paradox,
Or perhaps not.

Mountain Daze

Climbed to the peak,
Montserrat, mountain of the Black Madonna,
shrine of cliffs, roof of the world,
with Catalunya stretching out for hundreds of years all around.

While She, regal statuette, lodged high above the altar,
high above the world,
watches over us,
and weeps.

In Dutch

In the Dutch language,
all things seem clear,
and direct,
often brutishly blunt.

No room for prevarication,
or obfuscation, vaccilatory nuance.

They tell it like it is, you see,
Not as they wish it would be.
More refined, slightly more elegant.

Song for an Angel

Sing to me of distant loves,
of enchantress pining for a saviour,
of lectures unattended,
while the young maidens run free,
barefoot through dewy May fields,
in the same places we knew,
only centuries ago.

Vapour

I watched the olde-worldy train pull out
of the weather-beaten station.
Your suitcases and you were on board,
forever departing, and that's how you'll stay.

You left in summer, and the sunshine,
and the green grass and the clean crisp air,
All wanted to leave with you,
and the grime and dust remained.

And so did I.

Creeps

Shadows mark the hazy aura
Of what once was a thought.
That kiss, that pure emotion,
Our sense of needing, wanting bliss.

Now turned into afterthought,
Memory unwelcome,
That creeps us uninvited.

Salamander

Fiery twisted flame dancer,
Stretched toad-reptile,
Underworld reveller,
Your word has never been your bond,
Nor your heart your own to direct.

Foreign masters have you in chains,
And the light does not pervade
Into your better chambers.

Tripods

One of my favourite art forms in general and a much-loved pastime of mine in particular is photography and anything to do with it. It gives me a real buzz to shoot a near-perfect picture and process it online using some of the advanced imaging software that is available these days. Of course anyone who is serious about his or her photography will have to consider looking into tripods as they are an vital factor in the arsenal of a good photographer.

There is a superb brand out there and they are the velbon tripods which are proving very popular now. They are available in all price ranges to price shouldn’t be prohibitive. They come in ballhead and panhead type of tripod and make for a fabulous addition to any photographer’s crucial paraphernalia.

With these velbon tripods you will be able to shoot great stills and landscape pictures. You will find them easy to use and excellent value for money.

Serene

I think of you, softly,
Now all have left us,
Wishing nothing would ever again,
Come between our awkward hearts,
Lives tapered into inevitable outcomes,
Outstretched, entwined, serendipitous,
With me, still here, forever wondering,
What on earth,
It was all about.

Headphones

I love nothing better than taking some well-earned time off for myself and just to listen to my MP3 player, using my headphones . It is a genuinely relaxing feeling to engulf myself with music and tunes and melodies of my own choosing, turning the volume up as I please. Of course, I take care not to annoy anyone else with the noise of my headphones when I am in public.

Some of the very best headphones that are available are made by Grado headphones . This is truly a quality product and experts and professionals alike endorse the great sound quality provided by these superb headphones that will make for a fabulous listening experience for anyone.

Sometimes I turn down the lights, close my eyes and drift off into an audio landscape that flows into my mind through my ears and nifty headphones. A veritable bath for the soul.

Twirl

The azure sphere looks out upon
a vast dark blanket that covers all
Dread waters blue cling on to it
silver cloud, like angels' hair draped
all around this marvellous stellar gem
revolving around itself
its core of hard softness that boils
and bubbles and reaches up
causing immeasurable mayhem
rendering mortals utterly mortal

Arise

Shine and sparkle like a glass
of finest crystal hue, cut supremely
never dare to not dare to dare all,
in sublime pursuit of that living thing itself
that makes all that went before
remorselessly inadequate,
and, ultimately, quite irrelevant.

Sleep Time

I wander in a dazy haze,
All eyes up-lit and sparkles,
Memories twine and twinkle near,
And lost is the word I cannot fathom.

I rear up and revel in the grove
Of what once came before.
Voices listen, listen out,
Noting all that moves a-shiver.

Dreamscape

Lying alone, sponge-dripped,
Fed on promised whispers,
Oriental island breezes,
Thoughts never quite uttered.
Windows covered with hazy shades,
Glass half empty, perennially,
Nothing stirs, no mention ever
Of anything remotely awkward.
Paradise perceived in 20-20 vision.

Salute

The day, ignomy dressed as routine,
Salacious eventuality,
Occurences dwelt upon,
Too much..

Dream Catcher

Snip, snipe,
Relish the dark night's whispers,
Slowly, creeps a shadow to the pond
Where, we all know, a monster hides,
From the world of day,
From us.

Rosary

Your tears like ruby crystal
on a string in my hand.
I watch your alabaster smile,
looks down on me, sinner.
Your hazel eyes like music,
blue-rimmed face; kind, wise.
You are not angelic, yet more so.
I walk along with you,
the garden welcomes us both.
Freshly scented, spring survives
my heartfelt lonely despair.
You take my hand, alive and giving,
my world is a kind word,
my heart is a child's,
my faith ultimately yours.

Stark

Word flow on from eager anger
stirred by notions out of flow
nothing moves within the sphere
of gentle caring.
Slender trees move to and fro,
smile upon the distraught traveller,
the woods appear like so many dreams
keen to envelop, soak up lightness.

Garlandine

Serpentine seams of silver ghosts
appear to lonely finger-shaped clouds
eager to belong, here, there,
somewhere..
Night cloaks down on this old town
and I walk ahead into a dream
of loveless flaws,
exceptions, trickling down
into lakes and liquid vaults
that locked out half my world.

An Apple

Apple of my eye, Eve incarnate
from rib of man's first child,
temptress tempted, fate incurred,
gods and angels crowd around
this Tigris grove, fiery breath,
songs of Seraphim, dimly audible,
in the rushing of the leaves,
the creaking of the tree,
bulging with the weight
of that ominous fruit,
the rushes in the river,
the sun's loud rays,
the words spoken
for the very first time,
and at evening,
that gaze upwards
to that silver pregnant moon,
rising and rising
for the very first time.

The Mark

Slither a-sliver of sleepy self,
dreams wake up to life renewed,
all overturning inside lovelessness,
like leaves of autumnal hue disperse.

Trees line the fringe of last refuge,
bones and skin keep in the storm,
cattish shrieks light up the night,
as alley life steps to the mark.

Memoire

Haze, surrounded by grey garlands of steamy thought,
Unwrapped into unfolding weavelets,
Turmoil and mayhem abound,
As in Pandora opening a treasure trove of woe.

Serene unquestions ask of themselves
Nothing so outstretched as time lost,
Perceived in agongy,
Or thronged in abject pain.

Walk though a wooded glen,
Smile though a furrowed pang,
Talk with a smooth whisper,
And never ever forget!

Looking Back

Walked through a green,
a copse of thoughts assembled
by ancient spectres,
forever lurking,
just out of reach.

Sang a song of hope,
for the trees and reeds,
lining the river,
where once I swam
when still a boy.

Loved a life,
lived in and out of time,
reaching for so much,
stumbling along the way
into my own sense of me.

Sky Disc

Eye, hung on a pin,
high above a smouldering,
ancient world,
sees all, knows all,
saw us before we came into being.
This solemn vizor may yet smile
upon little feeble ways,
displays of petty anger,
wars, hurt and more.
Placate it, lest there be wrath forecoming,
greet its rising complexion,
each and every day.
Teardrop

Sleek, forget me not,
to slide down a shapely cheek,
and look up one more time,
at eye curved in solitude,
passion crumbled,
night embraced.

Lines

Fox-like gloves left on the lawn
summer smiles a tender yawn

Velvet grass, damp with due
all the world left to pursue

A word, a gesture; anything.

Status Quo

In the gentle morning, I see
All around concentrated
In the tiniest droplet of steam
Sullenly sliding down the side
Of an over-boiling kettle.
No fear, no sweat;
Just one more day of
Living with myself.

Here I stand
Upon the line
Between then and now,
Fairly fearless, yet motionless too,
Speech evaporated,
Thoughts scurrying off,
And me still here,
And another day,
Of me with me.

Fondness

A whisper in mad morning,
earnest flutterings of an unquiet mind,
forever nearer to what I perceive as glee,
untold memories, linger within.

Soft silver afternoon,
dispensed my former gloom
revived by aeons of not-quite-belonging here,
and thoughts induced of what might have been.

A slinking sense of fondness
for all that was, and myself included,
pervades my inner sanctum now,
and no crow appears too dark,
no heart shows up too scarlet,
as all is as all should be.

Gold

Where is that centre of all belonging, and more?
Is it in the stillness perceived in the midst of tragedy,
Blissful incantations of divine sanctuary received,
Oceans of turmoil and remnants of feelings,
All washed away in the flick of a tear-stained lash?

Nostalgic Forecast

I walk ablaze in a whirlwind dream
unable to focus on inner mayhem,
Words unravel into tangled webs,
sustain a sense of still-born fear.
Well within the spring inside,
feelings, notions roar.
I wish to sever heart from mind,
and pass through that dark door.

Silence fills a stark-white room
with nothing but remembrance.

Statutory Muse

World unfold a tearful eye
Over seas of tranquil glee

Further up ahead I glance
Something I had longed to see

Clouds that smile upon my face
Fondness from on high

All the signs still to retrace
My soul must crave to fly.

Stellar Faze

World weary untold tapestries of stars surround
Eagerish eyes, too soft for confrontation
Delirium bound for agony enhanced
By all of my life that went before.

I take a tablet of my own making
And forego the privilege of breathing out
All that I contain remains within
My soul to perish, yet proves devout.

One stellar dream to unravel itself
One hope to descend upon me gently

I faze out and in,
And out.

Austral Days

Never ever dared to dream
Thoughts collide in flights of fancy
Deepest joy anticipates
Nothing stirs yet awkwardly.

I feel a feather on a breeze
Gentler, gentler still
I move upon a brighter way
And face each coming day.

So many years I wished for this
To see that land, those faces
Not knowing what to fear or miss
I re-traced my own re-traces.

A world away, is where I’ll be
To find another world, anew
Want to wake up from my reverie
And soak up all its light, imbue.

Southern Cross may welcome us
Two loners on a path of glee
Our love will reinforce, and thus
Bring my soul’s own breath to me.

Blue Haze Remembered

A sleep surrounded by a dream
That stretches on throughout the day,
Where all that isn’t bright must seem
An arcane sadness on display.

A thought enveloped by a hope
That imparts a sense of splendid wonder.
My lust and love plan to elope
And settle somewhere yonder.

A kiss caressed by passions pure,
Which, breathing fiery clouds of glee,
Inspires and does entice and lure,
Then brings you back to me.

Lost and found, we care to live,
Knowing Fate may take or give.

Rambling Associations

Dream, thought, sleep surrounded
Fenced-in undertows of worlds
As yet undiscovered, near-hovering
From alabaster cloud-constructed pods,
Everlasting breath

Followed a sheepless trail of heather
Grey storming hopeful skies winked rain at us;
My heart of hearts so tenderly evoked, and
These memories I have to tread on,
Ever so very gently.

Made tearful cups of ginger tea
From droplets left on rocks in streams
Too well hidden, too remote from cities, words

Made love from sparkling nights of woe
Felt sodden, cold from feeling all,
Lay down to dream a dream of hope.

Orbit

To write my self a sparkling verse
That shines forever onward,
To where the light of life surrounds
And kindness need not hide.

To twirl my soul onto the core
Where all awkwardness subsides,
And deep within my inner calm
Still deeper me resides.

To speak a word of love so true
It liberates this world I own,
And forfeits not what might have been
When love had left me all alone.

I’d sail on whispers in the night
To shore up anchor in your sight.

Dawn Chorus

My erstwhile dreams of love surround
Our hearts and minds and souls.
Our eagerness at last has found
What satisfies and yet cajoles.

Inspired to ever greater heights,
We live and love and breathe.
Fixed clearly, hope within our sights
Our inner selves we now unsheathe.

Stricken by our sense of glee,
Pale sorrow takes to flight.
In love, our love-filled eyes can see
A world of life and light.

One heart speaks to its counterpart,
United, they make the night depart.

South Land

What on earth lies yet ahead?
The will to discover where I'm from,
Whispers, snippets of half-embraced memories,
Yellowing photographs in sticky summer drawers,
My first bank book with Donald Duck on the front,
Dad building his ~our~ own house;
Wood and nails and persperation,
Australian sun scorches my eager mind,
Even before I get there.

Lift

An eye upon an ogre sky,
I left my world once more to fly.
To soar ahead of mortal stresses
And feel the breeze’s sweet caresses.

An ear would hear what would remain
Of tired mind and urban brain.
To feast upon the heavens’ sound;
Such revelry is seldom found.

A hand reached out to touch another,
My love or guide; my arcane mother.
To feel once more connected to
What breathes in and believes in you.

Upon the brightest waves we rode
On Pegasus to your abode.

Sonnet 12

I wearied like a turmoil shroud,
Far from soothing voices.
My mind was darkened by a cloud
That left me with few choices;

One to leave and sever hope,
Never to return to life.
Something weak within would grope
And say farewell to ceaseless strife.

The other was to persevere,
To greet each coming day anew.
Endeavour to become sincere
And let my eager heart pursue ~

~the dreams I held to be forlorn
Within my sustenance were born.
